Project Summary
The Splatoon franchise was originally released on May 28, 2015. This upcoming year (2020) will mark the franchise's 5th anniversary. We wanted to celebrate this milestone by hosting a special zine, Rave in the Wave. The zine will consist of illustrations covering all aspects of the game from inkopolis to Deepsea Meto and more! This will be a physical charity zine and all profit will be donated to The Nature Conservancy. Preorders are scheduled to start on Splatoon's birthday month in May 2020.

Hey there everyone! My name is Gab and I am the host, art director, and project manager of this zine. I am a graphic designer by day, and a Nintendo gamer by night. I fell in love with splatoon ever since it was first released and with Splatoon’s 5th year anniversary coming up, I wanted to collaborate with other splatoon fans to create a zine in honor of the game franchise. The splatoon community has definitely been one of the best communities I have been a part of and I have made countless friends because of it. I am very excited to work on this project with everyone and thank you for your interest in this zine!

Hihi! My name is starbiit, but feel free to call me Star or Brie! I will be a mod for this wonderful zine Gab has cooked up for us. Even though I did not have a WiiU, I still really admired Splatoon as a whole and I was super excited when it came out for the Switch. Splatoon has helped me grow in many different ways and meet a TON of lovely people, and I want to show my thanks. I look forward to working with all of you!!

I'm Claire, a 23-y/o art major, who's been a fan of Nintendo games before I could even read! I've been playing the Splatoon games for years now, and while I stopped playing as frequently, I still draw Splatoon fanart and participate in Splatoon zines when I can. This is my first time modding, and I hope to get even more involved in the community by doing so!

Hiya! I'm Shadoo an illustration graduate with a huge love for everything cute! This is my fourth zine I'm helping mod and my ninth zine in general. I've been following Splatoon ever since it was in development but have only started playing the game and getting into the fandom since last year! I've been in love with it even more than I have before and want to continue being involved in the fandom, so it's a huge honour to be part of this zine! I look forward to working with everyone!

I'm Melissa, also known as AcidSunshine, and have been Splatoon Obsessed since August 2017. Shortly after realizing that I'm a terrible player I began to commentate as many tournaments as possible, building my skills and knowledge on competitive Splatoon. I lends my graphic design skills to Game Set Match, an eSport organization that I run with LSDJ, for stream graphics, promos, and merchandise; while also contributing to such LAN events at Smash 'N' Splash 5 and Genesis 7 with EndGameTV. This is my second zine and I've been privileged to be a part of it and is my first time as a contributor. I am so excited to be joining other Splatoon fans in the art community!
